What we collect

Solane is built to work with as little personal data as possible. Depending on how you use the app, we collect:

  • Account data. Solane creates an anonymous account for you by default, no email required. If you choose to link an account, we collect the email address you provide so you can sign back in and recover your boards.
  • Vision board photos. Photos you upload to build a vision board are stored on our infrastructure so your boards are available across sessions and, if you link an account, across devices.
  • Subscription and purchase information. When you subscribe, purchase details are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details.
  • Product usage data. We collect basic feature usage events, such as which parts of the app you open, through our product analytics provider, PostHog. This is used to understand how the app is used, not to identify you personally or track you across other apps or websites.
  • Community content. If you post to the community feed, we collect the text and any optional image you choose to share.
  • Notification scheduling. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. This information never leaves your device and is not sent to us.

How we use it

  • To create, store, and sync your vision boards and Manifest List.
  • To operate your account, including anonymous accounts and any linked email sign in.
  • To process and manage your subscription through RevenueCat and the relevant app store.
  • To understand feature usage in aggregate so we can improve the app.
  • To display community content you choose to post to other users in your language community.
  • To respond to support requests you send us.

What we never do

  • We never sell your personal data.
  • We never use advertising trackers or ad networks inside the app.
  • We never share your vision board photos outside of your account, except community posts you choose to share yourself.

Third party processors

We work with a small number of service providers to operate Solane. Each only receives the data it needs to perform its function.

Supabase Account infrastructure and storage for vision board photos and app data.
RevenueCat Subscription and purchase management across the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Apple App Store / Google Play Payment processing for subscriptions. We never receive your card details.
PostHog Product analytics for feature usage, used in aggregate to improve the app.

Data retention

We keep your account data, boards, and posts for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your account, boards, uploaded photos, posts, and settings within 30 days, as described on our account deletion page. Some information may be retained where required by law, such as records needed for tax or fraud prevention purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These may include the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data, as described on our account deletion page.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

Children

Solane is intended for users aged 17 and over. Solane is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Solane is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where your data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Solane after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
